Business Problems: Tools for Effective Executives

Description

This course introduces law students to the tools, concepts, and language of business. It is premised on the belief that to excel as a business lawyer, one must understand the world of business from the perspective of the owners and executives one counsels and assists. The course covers, in compressed form, many basic business subjects such as finance, marketing, operations, tactics, and strategy. In the last portion of the course, the student is placed in the position of the president of various companies and asked to grapple with a variety of tactical and strategic issues. There will be a number of guests speakers representing a broad range of companies.
