Equal Protection and Antidiscrimination: Race, Law and Inequality

This seminar examines constitutional and statutory law related to race and inequality. After an introductory exploration of the meaning of race, racism and discrimination, each session focuses on a particular substantive area. Topics covered include employment, criminal justice, political participation, hate speech, education, and intimacy. Readings include judicial opinions and legal scholarship, as well as some social science materials.
