G-8 Vows to Cut Emissions but Divisions Remain

Andrew Revkin references Professor David Victor in a PBS NewsHour segment about the G-8 conference on climate change:

Well, David Victor, an analyst at Stanford, told me just a few hours ago in an e-mail that -- he said, when they're arguing a lot, he said, that's actually a good sign, because that means they're seriously engaged in this.

And so if that's the best we can do, in terms of looking for good news, I think it's at least a sign that the world is seriously engaged and sort of reckoning where this is going to go.
