The goal of Stanford law societies is to strengthen the connection among alumni and between alumni and Stanford Law School. By creating and managing both social and academic events across the country, law societies provide opportunities for alumni to renew social ties, remain connected to the most current academic knowledge, and build professional networks.

"Protecting IP in China" on August 15, 2007
The protection of IP has become one of the most prominent issues for U.S. companies doing business in China. China is quickly growing into an industrialized nation in which companies need to use, and therefore must protect, their most valuable assets — IP created by R&D and manufacturing labs. With more than 1,000 R&D labs operated by multinational corporations, China has become the world's second largest spender on R&D, and has replaced Germany as the world's fifth largest source of patent application filings. Unfortunately, many U.S. companies still find themselves lost in the unfamiliar Chinese IP system. [ Details ]
